The life of a rustler back in the 1800’s was fraught with peril, and not only from the Law. Their lifestyle was hard and it took a hard, cruel man to even attempt to profit from rustling. The cattle that rustlers attempted to steal had minds of their own, and more often than not the rustlers would be left afoot because they messed with a big longhorn bull. That is what Rustlers Reward portrays, a longhorn bull that doesn’t want to go the direction the rustler is trying to take him, so he takes care of the rustler himself.
